New User Walkthrough - Page 6: Login Scene

  • This is an optional step. You can skip it and continue on if you wish.
  • If you plan on using Ogre login, or Ogre autologin, then you need a login screen (called Loginscene), that supports it. It needs to display: Username, password, charactername, and servername. It must also BLANK itself out every time it loads.
  • To assist with this, a modified loginscene is downloaded for you, but you must choose to use it.
  • In the directory /scripts/EQ2OgreCommon/ you will notice the file "eq2ui_loginscene.xml".
  • To use this file: save this file into your Everquest 2 UI folder. For example:
    • /EverQuest II/UI/ProfitUI/
    • If you are using the default UI, save this file into:
    • /EverQuest II/UI/Default/
    • NOTE: When using the default UI, every time you run Sony's patcher, it will replace this file, and you'll have to copy it again.
    • TIP Not sure which folder you use? In your /EverQuest II/ folder, edit the file eq2.ini (it may be called eq2_recent.ini). Find the line that looks like this: cl_ui_subdir UI/ and find this line: cl_ui_skinname test.
      • In this example, my path is: /EverQuest II/UI/test/ so I would save the file there.
    • Note If you use ProfitUI, every time you update it may overwrite this file. If this happens ask in IRC #Ogre for help. I personally don't use profit, but others do.
